Disk Drill will analyze the storage device you select, will detect recoverable data, and will bring said data back to life. Disk Drill is a data recovery tool that will bring back lost or deleted data. If you accidentally deleted some files, if someone else deleted some files by accident or on purpose, if there was some sort of accident that lead to data loss, you can use Disk Drill to bring back your lost files.

Disk Drill is not a new product. At least Disk Drill for Mac is not a new product. You see, the Mac version has been around for quite some time. The Windows version though is fairly new. So new that at the time of writing this it still carries the Beta tag. And while it is in Beta, it is offered for the great price of free.

The main panel on Disk Drill’s interface lists all your drives and storage devices. It lists your internal hard drive(s), it lists all your partitions, it lists any portable storage device that is connected to your PC. There’s a dropdown menu on the right hand side that features the following options: run all recover modes, undelete protected data, quick scan, deep scan, universal partition search, load last scanning session.

Using data recovery tools is a simple task, most of the times. You just have to select a storage device or drive, initiate and wait for the scan to complete, review the files that can be recovered, and then recover the files you need to bring back to life. Disk Drill does not stray from this simple formula. It will quickly scan the storage device you select, it will present a list of recoverable files, it will allow you to preview the files you want to recover, and it will quickly recover the files you select.

Disk Drill for Mac is available as a Free, Pro, and Enterprise edition.
Disk Drill for Windows is only available as a Beta, at the time of writing this.

Disk Drill can scan any type of storage device, detect recoverable data, and bring said data back to life. It is a very useful data recovery tool.

Cons
